Drawings: Maps

I found an old map of Lemon Hill (Fairmount Park, PA) from 1870 that appears to be very inaccurate but beautifully inventive. Since I was already making invented maps of this same area, I used that old map as a starting point for some new pictures.  I tried to use that same inventiveness in these drawings to combine curved and linear shapes to hint at physical spaces.
