Drawings: Imaginary Botanicals

While I was working at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia in the early 2000s, I had the opportunity to make some studies of unique specimens from their massive collection. More specifically, I was fascinated with those where just one example is all that exists (type specimen). That idea became the basis for me to invent new specimens of my own. From these studies emerged new Imaginary Botanicals that were completely unique where I was free to invent and play.
