The Bathers is a series of pictures that spans a ten year time frame. The start for these came from The Bathers by Paul Cezanne in the collection of the Barnes Foundation. The first few were more faithful to the original in that they had up to seven figures but over time, this number was reduced to three that referenced the artist, his wife and child. The setting for these is the shoreline of the Union River Bay in Surry, Maine where the artist often visits. When completed, the series was documented in a book titled Craig Stover ~ Bathers that was published in 2016 and is available from Blub press.
